Real worship costs.

David knew this and said:

"I will not offer to the LORD my God sacrifices that have cost me nothing."

One thing worship costs us is our self-centeredness.

You cannot exalt God and yourself at the same time.

You don't worship to be seen by others or to please yourself.

You deliberately shift the focus off yourself.

真正的敬拜是要付代价的。大卫明白这道理，

他说：「我不肯用白得之物作燔祭献给耶和华一我的神。」

我们要付的代价之一就是，放弃以自我为中心，

你不可能同时高举神，又高举你自己；

你敬拜不是为了做给人看，或是为自己高兴，

你必须把注意的焦点刻意地从自己身上转开。
